Our Flower brooches were originally inspired by the Hebridean wildflowers known as Machair. Machair refers to a fertile low-lying grassy plain found on part of the northwest coastlines of Ireland and Scotland, in particular the Outer Hebrides. The best examples are to be found on North and South Uist, Harris and Lewis where up to 40 species of plant can be found in one square metre.
Our Rosette brooches are finished by expert hand sewers who neatly and precisely fold the tweed like they would a kilt, to create a uniform and pleasing shape. Each is decorated in a hand covered button seen here in bright pillar box red tweed.
Rosette brooches measures approx 9cm in diameter and Flower brooches measures approx 10cm. Backed with a 4.5cm swivel clasp pin.
